Post-Secondary Program
Post-Secondary Option Program for High School Juniors & Seniors
- Only juniors and seniors can participate.
- Up to two classes of any credit amount will be reimbursed. With the restriction of 1 online class per semester.
- Reimbursement occurs after the semester is over and the classes have been successfully completed with a grade of “C” or higher.
- All Colorado public four year and two year colleges, four area vocational schools, and the three private colleges qualify for reimbursement.
- Student must take assessment tests before enrolling in college classes. If they have taken the SAT no assessment test is needed.Any student taking more than 8 hours at a college and using the PSO program is considered a full time public high school student and must comply with public high school requirements.
- For juniors that means taking the ACT test at a public high school when it is required of all juniors in the state. It means nothing for seniors.
- Seniors who have finished ALL of their high school graduationrequirements by their junior year and have NOT received a diploma can participate in the “FAST TRACK PROGRAM”. Theschool district will pay for the tuition of all classes ( 1 online class per semester only) taken during one senior “Fast Track” year. No repeating senior year for these students. Parents must keep all records.
- Any student enrolled in the program will need to plan to pay and later be reimbursed at the end of the semester.
- Any student on the “Fast Track” program will not be eligible for books through the Option program.
- A 3 or 4-credit college class = 1/2 high school credit and a 5-credit college class = 1.0 high school credit.
